Abstract

Rural India is experiencing a multi-faceted change with the emergence of urban middle class, migration movement from rural area to urban centers, deepening environmental problems in agricultural production, enthusiasm for higher education, disappearance of the traditional service relation, active investment from the urban sectors, and the mushrooming of high-rise condominiums. These developments are mutually related, and promoting unprecedented changes in India.
