Abstract

Quantitative detection of viruses in environmental water bodies provides useful information on occurrence of pathogenic microorganisms in the interested area. The viruses were successfully determined from wastewater samples in Beijing, China. Enteric viruses were abundant throughout the year around. Viruses were removed by biological wastewater treatment to a similar extent to Japan.
