The aim of this project was to organize the collection and evaluation methods vis-?-vis urban environmental cultural resources and to transfer these methods to local communities in Southeast Asia, based on a hypothesis that, it is necessary to conserve the diversity of such resources nurtured by each city in order to guarantee its own sustainability. Specifically, we conducted an exhaustive research of existing urban environmental cultural resources in Jakarta, Indonesia, which results we evaluated and selected using the “Heritage Butterfly” evaluation method and published in the form of a heritage map. By collaborating with Trisakti University and Tarumanagara University in Jakarta as well as with mAAN Indonesia throughout this project, it became possible for us to convey the significance and actual research techniques to local researchers and students.
