This study attempts to develop a theoretical framework that focuses on the role of resources from a social science perspective. A particular attention will be paid to the way nature becomes resources and transformed into goods and services. I argue that the question of distribution can most appropriately be examined in the realm of resources where potentials are identified, and not in the field of goods where primary utility has already been established.
